Why you should choose Netflix over Blockbuster

netflfix vs blockbusterBy now, everyone’s heard of Netflix; it is certainly one of the most popular way to watch movies and its inception has led to a very popular war, Netflix vs. Blockbuster. Similarly to Blackberry vs. iPhone, this ongoing battle opposes very loyal users defending each side. However, as an avid user of Netflix and a big fan of Netflix deals and promotions, I just don’t understand why anyone would want to pay for Blockbuster! Netflix is affordable, revolutionary, and allows you to watch anything you want, anywhere you want!

When it comes to movie rentals, it used to be quite simple. You would drive to your local video store, rent a few tapes (remember those vhs tapes?) and bring them back a few days later. Very often, most of us would forget to bring our tapes back and be stuck with late fees. However, since then things have changed. You can now rent movies directly from your computer or even stream tv shows online, if you know where to look. This is perhaps what has made Netflix so popular; it’s a one-stop solution for entertainment.

First of all, Netflix barely costs $8 a month. Imagine if you were to rent 2 movies a week, at $2.99 each at Blockbuster (that’s if you’re really into old movies, rather than new releases). That would easily add up to $20 each month. And you would only have those 2 movies per week out of that $20. With Netflix, you pay $8 on a monthly basis and can watch absolutely anything you want at all times. This is a much better deal, since you have the unlimited aspect of it at a price that is considerably lower than renting highly discounted movies at a movie rental store such as Blockbuster.

The other advantage of a Netflix subscription is the fact that you’ll be able to take advantage of all television shows you want, on top of the movies you’ll constantly be watching. Don’t pay for cable or DVR – start watching sitcoms online through Netflix! Missed your favorite soap opera? Fear not, Netflix has it. Not only will you never come back from the movie rental store empty handed because all the copies of Mad Men season 3 were rented, but you will be able to watch everything, from a single episode to an entire season without paying any additional fees.

All in all, movie rental stores are over. With Netflix, you can rent movies and television shows anytime you want for only $8 a month, without ever having to bring back DVDs to the store. Netflix vs. Blockbuster is a no brainer; out with the rental store and in with the unlimited online technology of Netflix!

What On Earth is a Pick Up Artist?

17 January, 23:25, by admin

the gameBeing a Pick Up Artist (PUA) is not just about delivering a one-liner in a bar to a hot girl. That will only get you a slap in the face. It works like that in the movies and in real life. PUAs — or members of the seduction community — actually have weekly meetings in local groups called “lairs”, share stories online on forums and post and comment on blogs detailing their successes and failures with women. The movement was started by Ross Jeffries back in the ’90s, who promoted a series of neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) techniques that he termed “speed seduction”. The idea is to make yourself attractive to women by employing courtship techniques that could be compared to animal subroutines that we evolved with. The literature behind the movement draws a lot of its argumentation from evolutionary psychology and sociobiology.

OK, so how does it work?

Now that your attention has been grabbed, let’s analyze how the whole PUA thing works. The goal of a “speed seducer” is to achieve success with women through scientific and empirical means, instead of relying on good looks or intuition. PUAs even reject normal social courtship conventions and ridicule the whole “dating” scene, popularized by Jerry Seinfeld on his show in the ’80s and ’90s. Instead, a man practicing seduction will assume that women are naturally passive and will not initiate contact — thus forcing men to be the ones who have to approach them. Some members of the community will make literally hundreds of these approaches every day, in order to practice their moves.

Additionally, PUAs completely reject the notion that to be successful with a woman, you have to spoil them with gifts and flowers. In fact, they teach that this is “supplication” and does not befit an “alpha male”. Pick Up Artists do not just work alone either; sometimes they bring a best friend from their group who will observe the interchanges and then afterward comment and rate the approach. This second dude is known as a “wingman”.

Does it really work?

From the amount of blogs, websites, e-books, DVDs and CDs available, and the media interest generated by Strauss’s book on the topic called The Game, there is some grain of truth to the whole ideology. However, it is not without controversy. Obviously this kind of approach to women can be construed as sexist by some and downright misogynist by others.

That is why members of the movement and its leading authors and thinkers stress that this is not so much about a “system” that will “guarantee scoring with a woman”, but that it is more about a method that men can use to restore self-confidence and boost their ego, so they have an easier time socializing and being around women in the first place.

Apparently, “speed seduction” routines will also help Pick Up Artists overcome difficulties not only with their social skills, but it will give them the confidence to improve their outer appearance as well, such as physical fitness, fashion sense and grooming.
