Players start by choosing a character based on faction (“The Fallen” or “The Chosen”) and class. “The Fallen,” or Asmodian race, which is a culture of darkness, features black wings and talons with pale, grayish skin. “The Chosen,” or Elyos race that embraces the light, looks more human with white wings. Four classes are available for each faction, and these include mage, priest, warrior and scout. Each class has two subclasses to choose from: ranger or assassin (scout); templar or gladiator (warrior); spiritmaster or sorcerer (mage); and cleric or chanter (priest).
Character creation in Aion is more advanced than the majority of available MMO spiele. More facial and body features are available and colors are available to customize the look of hair, lips and skin (no presets, here). Players are able to create a creature that fully fits its name and place in the race of Elyos or Asmodian.
